The Russell Gallery is proud to present 2009 Kresge Fellow, Cedric Tai. This show features highlighted works from his award winning portfolio, including ceramic work and paintings on the reverse side of acrylic. Opening reception Friday, October 2nd from 6 - 9 pm. Also, Cedric will be giving an artist talk Saturday, October 3rd at 5pm to coincide with the Art.Detroit.Now tours and the Russell Industrial Center Open House. Don't miss this!

The Russell Gallery is proud to present its newest exhibition entitled, “Detroit: A New Beginning”. This mixed media show presents art works of Belozro and many other regional artists showcasing metalwork, painting, and photography. Russell Gallery will come alive with the fusion of color, light and motion in the theme of “Detroit: A New Beginning”.

Featuring the unique vision and style of Belozro. Belozro, creates his own unique Neo-Calligraphic style, combining impressionism and realism with a subject matter that adds a definite touch of elegance. His work is a ‘must see’. Visit the gallery and experience for yourself, theses exciting works of art. Russell Gallery hours are; Fri-5p-9p, Sat 10a-9p and Sun 11a-6p. A Celebration of African American Aesthetics

Please come join us this Friday February 6th as we present the opening for our newest Gallery showing that is a celebration of Black History Month. “Celebration of African American Aesthetics” is a mixed media show that features art and photography from some of the most talented artists around. There are many things to see and do on Friday including music, food and a film installation.

As a bonus, we would be honored if you would join us as we do a very special Art Gallery Crawl. We will be using our heated bus and a tour guide to give an exciting tour of The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, The Sherry Washington Gallery and our very own Russell Gallery. Below are the complete details of the show and itinerary for the Gallery Crawl. The tickets for the crawl are $15 which include entry into each gallery, transportation and V.I.P. reception with free food and drinks.

Start and finish at the Russell Gallery Friday, February 6th 3-8 pm
Located within the Russell Industrial Center 1600 Clay 3rd blg. 1st floor.

$15 Ticket include park and ride from Russell Bazaar and admission to Galleries, Museum, and V.I.P. Reception with buffet and drinks, and live jazz.
Tour guide will give Historical fun facts and mention points of interest along route.

My Wish For 2009

This Saturday from 3 - 8 pm at the Russell Gallery inside The Russell Bazaar we will be hosting the opening reception for "My Wish for 2009"

This will be a special occasion that will feature a meet and greet with some of Detroit's finest artists.

The Art show runs from January 26th and runs through February 21st.
